Excellent Album:
If you dig dreamy synth heavy music like Lone (Lemurian, Ecstasy & Friends) or G-funk from producers like Battlecat or DJ Quik, you'll have a real blast listening to Funk's material. I'll just add that you shouldn't gauge the quality of this album off the first two tracks since they're possibly the worst the album has to offer.
I liked a vast majority of the songs on this album however. Rare, especially since I've recently picked up a terrible habit of buying albums that seemed good from samples but end up severely missing expectations on arrival. Some of my favorite tracks are "Mirrors", "The Sky Is Ours", "(My Funk Goes) On & On", and "Hood Pass Intact" among MANY other top performers on this excellent album.
There is one problem that lowers this album from 5 to 4 stars. THE SINGING! Now, I don't know if Funk was trying to be funny or something, but the singing on some of these songs is plain terrible. Matter of fact, the singer on "I Wanna Thank You For (Steppin into My Life)" downright RUINED the great production Funk made as the base. Course, this is just one of a few examples of utterly horrible singing ruining good production and NOT all the songs with singing are bad; the vocals on "One Less Day" perfectly compliment the production.
In the end though, this is still one VERY good album. Here's to hoping that Funk better incorporates singing the next go round....

Basically, if you want to be put in a dreamy, positive state of mind all you have to do is pop in one of Dam funks CDs. Better yet drive and listen to his music (seriously, try it), just be careful not to run any stop signs and/or ding up the sides of your car. He does all the work for you, just press play. I can say that about very few CDs these days, so when you find something special like this it is a blessing. I really enjoyed this CD and I highly recommend it to anybody.
